Oh so your'e the one who drew this! I saw this comic on the a long time ago, & wondered where it was from. You know, I didn't mind Wonder woman's costume here. Yeah okay the Jackets a bit silly, but I mind wonder woman wearing pants. I mean, heck, not only Amazons actually wear pants, but I personally find it more attractive. Besides, I don't know why people complain skimpy outfits for some female characters, but when it comes to Wonder Woman wearing pants they act like its the end of the world.
Ahh the wonder of hypocrisy. You tell any normal woman to go fight in a bra and panties and you're a sexist pig... Take a comic book woman out of a similar get-up and put her in normal clothes to fight and you're a sexist pig. Face it men, you can't win for losing!Heaven forbid any female warrior actually look sexy and strong with clothes on after all. And let's admit, jeans and a shirt are a helluva lot easier to fight in. A strapless bustier? She'd fall right out!
I like it except for the jacket. The jacket is tacky, ugly, and two decades too late. I get that the artist said she would close it to be more discrete, remove it altogether, or use the pockets for item storage... But it's still awful. I'd rather see it sleek, no shoulder pads and a bit longer... And a different color. Lets face it, it looks like a bluejeans jacket, and no one wears those anymore.
Yeah, but there is some art without the jacket and it looks so much better. ^^ I think he added the jacket just for the blue and stars, but it just looks really bad. Find somewhere else to put the stars.... Even a cape would look better than that jacket.
Also adding knee high boots to break up the one color legging, possibly in the patriotic blue.
Although I am one who will miss the legs, I really don't really mind the new look. It never made sense to me why a woman from the Amazons wore an American Flag as her battle outfit. This outfit feels a bit more universal and if DC wants to make a franchise out of her (like Batman) some changes needed to be made. With all that said, I must add I dislike how they changed the bit of her history so that she wasn't raised on the Amazon Island. I mean, that's where her womanly pride comes from right?
I agree completely that the bathing suit is an odd choice of fighting wear, and I'm all for a costume change! But as my friend put it so aptly, this new costume looks more like college student's than a superhero's. :\
True! But I think that adds to Barda's character- that she can go from full combat gear mode to skimpy bikini and still look like a badass. It shows she don't give a crap about modesty or lack thereof- Barda's just arrived to deliver some whoopass.
True enough--and I'm hoping that's still a part of Diana's character, and that's more of JMS' words about the costume. I mean, she was still raised by the Amazons, after all, even if there were now a few complications along the way, to say the least.
